Malinīvijayottara Tantra is a foundational text to learn Tantric philosophy, yoga and rituals. This course by Ācārya Sthaneshwar Timalsina, founder of Vimarsha Foundation, is designed to address the most fundamental issues addressed in the text and help students to have an introductory background on Trika system of philosophy, the non-dual Kaśmiri Śaiva system. It is recommended that students familiarize with the system by reading Tantrasāra of Abhinavagupta. SYLLABUS Lecture 0: Introduction to the course Lectures 1-3: An analysis of Ānanda Lecture 4: Addressing the limiting factors (mala) Lecture 5: Defining samāveśa, the entry into higher consciousness Lecture 6: On the means of action (aṇava upāya) Lectures 7-8: On the means of refinement of thought in succession (śākta upāya) Lecture 9: On the means of pure will (śāmbhava upāya) Lectures 10-11: Śākta vijñāna, the meticulous process of analyzing the states of consciousness Lectures 12-13: Exploring the devotional aspect of Trika Śaivism through an analysis of the 50 Rudras The objective of offering this course is twofold: to bring a wider public awareness on some of the core issues related to tantric philosophy and to assist in spiritually engaging individuals to further their knowledge on some of the most archaic practices and philosophies.
