Intro

My name is Roop Vijayan. I became interested in Trika after hearing Swami Sarvapriyananda discuss its extensive tantra practices. Although I was born into a Hindu family in Kerala, I never encountered the philosophical depth of Advaita Vedanta in my community. Initially, I followed Buddha’s teachings for about 20 years, but recently—since September 2024– discovered Shankara’s Advaita and now embrace both Shankara’s and Abhinavagupta’s Advaita. I am fascinated by tantra practices and try to practice VijanaBharava. If Trika offers spaces like temples or gatherings similar to Shankara’s Advaita, I would lean more towards Trika, as I appreciate its unique perspective. In Baltimore, there is a large Nepali Hindu community and I hope I meet some other followers of Trika, whether Nepali or otherwise.
