Flo says hello
Hi all,
my name is Flo.

I am a householder and social scientist at the University of the Western Cape, in Cape Town, South Africa, working on food and nutrition politics.
In my private capacity, I have pursued a long-standing interest in oriental philosophies, having immersed myself in zen buddhism and taoism since my early teens. Thanks to my martial arts teachers, I began training qigong in 1997 and have since about 2009 explored traditional tantra.
Initially I explored vajrayana/bon (with an emphasis on tsalung and innner yogas) and more recently the scriptures and practices of shaiva-shakta tantra as revealed by Dr Wallis' recent translations of the works of Abhinavagupta, Bhatta Kallata, and Kshemaraja.
In 2009, I received a shaktipat transmission from a devotee of Bhagawan Nityananda, which accelerated the activation of kundalini. I also recently received initiation into a non-sectarian vajrayana transmission by Dr Nida Chenagtsang, Tchering Choeden and Dr Ian Baker.
As you can see, I have a broad interest in non-dual practices and insight traditions, and am fascinated by the convergences and differences between the various approaches. A particular area of interest is the cultivation of shakti-kundalini through pranayama, mantra and dance.
I am very grateful that Dr Timalsina is making authentic lineage teachings of Shaiva-Shakta tantra available globally and is convening an online sangha.
I look forward to insightful discussions!

Looking forward to dancing along with you Flo! Farming is one of the highest callings, providing basic sustanance to support worship and community. I live nextdoor to Salinas CA where food is all processed by people that are not respected at all; broken system. Glad to see you are doing Great Work!
